Phillips moves to Macmillan in British GT
William Phillips will swap from Ginetta to Aston Martin machinery for next year’s British GT4 attack after joining the Macmillan Racing team.
The 22-year-old will handle Macmillan’s Vantage GT4 alongside an as-yet unnamed team-mate. Phillips is the team’s second signing, after confirming that Jack Mitchell will graduate to its new GT3 programme, also in an Aston Martin.
Phillips shared a Team Hardrun Ginetta G55 with Jordan Stilp last year. The pair finished third in the GT4 Silver Cup class.
“I really enjoyed the Aston, it’s a good all-round car and very well engineered,” said Phillips. “We’re targeting race wins and the championship next year. I like the fact Macmillan are looking to create a GT ladder with its GT3 plans too. Hopefully we can progress as a unit.”
