Lewis is a saint

Motor Sport News - - Interview: Chris Haird -

I am amazed at the letters in the recent weeks in MN attacking Lewis Hamilton’s conduct during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

I can see nothing wrong with the way he tried to back Rosberg into the following pack as this was the only chance he had to become 2016 World champion.

In fact, it made the final laps of the race more exciting than it would otherwise have been. Hamilton’s car unreliability and some poor starts lost him the championship so this was the only option left.

I feel that Mercedes had no need to instruct Hamilton to speed up as he obviously had it well under control in keeping other drivers behind. Ian Dodd Via email
