Dane Kjaergaard to move up to British Formula 3 with Fortec
Danish teenager Nicolai Kjaergaard has been announced as Fortec Motorsports’ first driver for the 2017 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.
Kjaergaard finished 13th in the British F4 points in what was his first season of car racing in 2016 with Fortec, recording a best finish of fourth, and will remain with the team in British F3 next year after agreeing to race one of its three machines.
He has already had a taste of the British series’ Tatuus F3 car, having run with Fortec during the championship’s Autumn Trophy test sessions at Snetterton in October.
“After a good first season in single-seater cars with Fortec Motorsports in the British F4 Championship it felt natural for me to stay with the team for another season,” said the 17-year-old. “I hope to continue my development as a racing driver and get some great results during our 2017 British F3 campaign.”
