Variety makes the UK strong
With a plethora of events ahead, 2017 looks like being a belter
In this week’s Motorsport News, we look forward to some of the highlights of the next 12 months, and we pick out the must see events of the season ahead. It is a cracking roster.
Looking through the list, which includes everything from the British Grand Prix to a nostalgia event at Shelsley Walsh, it goes to demonstrate the variety on offer from motorsport in this country. That is something we can all be proud of.
Motor racing in the UK is all about participation, and that doesn’t necessarily mean getting on track, but it can also mean so much more than just spectating or watching from the armchair. There are a whole host of roles that need fulfilling to make sure that an event takes place, from marshalling to being part of the organising team. As a way of getting close to the sport, there is nothing to beat it.
So, if you are going to make a resolution for the months ahead, how about deciding to get involved. Check volunteersinmotorsport.co.uk for details. Happy new year to all of our readers, and a special thanks to the volunteers who make the sport we love happen. Matt James, Editor (Twitter: @Mattjmnews)
