Max is the man
I enjoyed your Christmas edition of
Motorsport News, and particularly your 50 Defining Moments of 2016 ( MN, December 14/21).
I was pleased that you put Max Verstappen’s arrival in the big league in the top three, but I would argue that he should have been at the very top of the list.
Of course, Nico Rosberg’s decision to walk away from the sport is dramatic, but the big story of the next decade of F1 will surely be all about the Flying Dutchman.
I am also pleased that Red Bull has him under lock and key and that means that he will be nowhere near the vacant Mercedes drive.
I think putting to two top talents in the sport (Lewis Hamilton and Max) in the same team would be bad for the future of the sport.
At least with them in different teams then there will be a better chance of a proper on-track rivalry. Roll on 2017! Jason Lowe Via email
