Mcgeehan heads his team-mates to victory

Derek Mcgeehan snatched the Turkey Run Rally win on the final stage to top a Mcgeehan Motorsport podium lockout by 1.2s in his Mini John Cooper Works WRC, following a win at the expansive venue three years prior.

In the ex-david Bogie Skoda Fabia R5, run under the Mcgeehan team, Joseph Mcgonigle and Ciaran Geaney were halfway leaders by one second in their second event in the car. But, with one 5.2-mile test remaining, Mcgeehan reduced the deficit to 0.5s, setting up a last stage showdown, of which he came out on top.

Alan Mcgeehan and Niall Magee were in good form following a win earlier in the year but could only manage third on this event in their Mini WRC, the pace of Mcgeehan and Mcgonigle proving just out of reach for them.
