Depper and Davenport get Motorbase seats

-

Martin Depper and series newcomer Luke Davenport have completed Motorbase Performance’s line-up for this season’s British Touring Car Championship in its Ford Focus.

The team has secured backing from Shredded Wheat and had already confirmed that Mat Jackson, who finished third in the points in 2016, would remain with the Kent-based squad.

Depper made his debut in the BTCC in 2010 and has contested over 100 races. His best race was a fifth place at Thruxton last season.

Davenport, who was sixth in the Ginetta GT Supercup in 2014, joins the team after two years in the British GT Championship.

Depper said: “When I tested the focus back in November I quickly found pace in the tricky conditions, so I’m really looking forward to carrying that forward and making my fourth season in the BTCC my best yet.”

Team boss David Bartrum said: “After securing our first-ever BTCC titles in 2016, we have one clear aim for 2017 and that’s the overall title.”
