The World Tour­ing Car Championship gets Good­wood cel­e­bra­tion

The 30th an­niver­sary of the in­au­gu­ral World Tour­ing Car Championship will be marked at the 75th Good­wood Mem­bers’ Meet­ing with high-speed demon­stra­tions on March 18/19.

Over the week­end two batches of pe­riod Group A cars will run, with the ear­lier cars like BMW 635s, Jaguar XJSS, Rover SD1S and Volvo 240 Tur­bos in one group and Ford Sierra RS500S, BMW M3s and Alfa Romeo 75s in a se­cond demon­stra­tion group.

The 1987 WTCC was con­tested by driv­ers in­clud­ing Roberto Ravaglia, Emanuele Pirro and Johnny Ce­cotto in BMW M3s and Klaus Lud­wig, Klaus Niedzwiedz, Steve Soper and Andy Rouse in Ford Sierra RS500S.
