Mercedes has dropped four driv­ers from its DTM ros­ter for this sea­son. Daniel Jun­cadella, Chris­tian Vi­etoris, Max­i­m­il­ian Gotz and Felix Rosen­qvist have all lost their seats as the man­u­fac­turer has re­duced from eight cars to six in line with Audi and BMW. Maro En­gel will re­turn to the se­ries for the first time since 2011 and will join Audi re­cruit Edoardo Mor­tara and the con­tin­u­ing Gary Paf­fett, Paul di Resta, Robert Wick­ens and Lu­cas Auer at Mercedes… Ford Per­for­mance di­rec­tor Dave Per­i­cak has de­nied ru­mours that the man­u­fac­turer is plan­ning to re­turn to Indy­car. Per­i­cak said he was aware of the spec­u­la­tion but he in­sisted that it was un­founded. “Yeah, there’s ru­mours fly­ing again, it’s crazy,” he said. “There are no plans for us to re­turn to Indy, I can tell you that we’re not look­ing to do that.” Ford last won the Indy 500 in 1996 with Buddy Lazier and also won it in the last year of CART, with Jac­ques Vil­leneuve for Team Green in 1995… BRDC Bri­tish F3 run­ner-up Ricky Col­lard will make his Bathurst 12 Hour de­but this week­end.
