Grow up Benyon

Motor Sport News - - Have Your Say -

In response to Jack Benyon’s column ( Motorsport News January 25) –with respect Jack, how old are you?

To claim that the forthcoming WRC rules are “...undoubtedly the most exciting period in most fans’ life time...” is a very sweeping statement.

Frankly for me, and I suspect many more, it is nothing more than a further extension of the wrong road world rallying is heading down.

To state the wish to be able to move freely, yet sensibly, about a stage with a desire to touch a moving rally car is crass in the extreme.

I think 99 per cent of the rallying community is owed an apology. Rod Hunt Via email Jack Benyon says: While I accept every rally fan who wants to move freely on a rally stage doesn’t want to touch a car, the far-reaching point to the column is that it will only take that one person to attempt such an action to put the sport in an unrecoverable position with the sport’s governing body, and, the government itself.
