Aston to run all-british team as Porsche returns to GT Pro
The WEC’S GT ranks have attracted a total of 13 entries, boosted by the return of the factory Porsche team.
A total of four brands will fight for the class title, which has gained world championship status for this year, with Ferrari, Porsche, Ford and defending champion Aston Martin all present.
Aston Martin Racing will field two Vanatge GTES in the Pro class for Nicki Thiim/ Marco Sorensen and Darren Turner/jonny Adam.
Double British GT champion Adam said: “Teaming up with Darren is something I’m really looking forward to. We both drive in a similar style and get the best out of each other and the car. I think it will be a great partnership.”
Porsche has confirmed three drivers so far – Michael Christensen, Frederic Makowiecki and Richard Lietz.
Ferrari will run two cars via AF Corse with James Calado and Davide Rigon confirmed.
Ford’s cars will be handled by Pipo Derani/andy Priaulx/ Harry Tincknell and Stefan Mucke/olivier Pla/billy Johnson.
