Cooper S winner Jeffs graduates to JCW Minis
Mini Challenge Cooper S Class champion Scott Jeffs will move into the top JCW division for just his second season of racing this year.
Jeffs took six wins on his way to the Cooper S Class title last year, aboard a privately run 1.6-litre turbocharged R56 car. For this season he has invested in a new two-litre Gen 3 F56, which he will again run a privateer entry.
The 19-year-old from Stratford upon Avon was a regular in British Super One karting prior to graduating to car racing last season.
“I did eight years of karting before getting the Mini, and I didn’t expect last season to go as well as it did in truth,” said Jeffs.
“The JCW is a natural step up for this year, although it will be a steep learning curve. It’s a proper racing car – built from the ground up. Using the sequential gearbox and getting used to the extra power is a big challenge. But I want to be fighting for top five finishes and podiums by the end of the year.”
