Fiesta Junior champion Harry Gooding will switch to the Renault UK Clio Cup Junior series for 2017.

The 15-year-old became the youngest ever winner of the Fiesta category last year and will remain with the Jamsport squad that took him to the title. He will join his main rival from last season, Bradley Burns, in the team’s Clio line-up.

“When I first drove the UK Clio Cup Junior car I immediately knew where I wanted to be for 2017,” said Gooding. “It gives you loads of confidence to go looking for new limits and it’s an opportunity to move into much more modern machinery.

“This will also teach me a lot about the car ahead, I hope, for a move in a couple of years into the senior UK Clio Cup. That’s the one all the touring car teams are watching for their future drivers.”

Jamsport team boss Jamie Going said: “It’s great to have Harry on board again. I think him and Bradley together will work really well.”

Going added that the team could run up to five cars in the inaugural season of the category.
