British star Rowland joins DAMS for GP2
Oliver Rowland will join the DAMS team for his second year in the GP2 Series this season.
The 24-year-old, who is backed by the Racing Steps foundation, will team-up with Nicholas Latifi at the French team that formerly ran Briton Jolyon Palmer to the GP2 title.
Rowland finished ninth in last year’s GP2 points, despite leading the championship after five rounds into his maiden campaign with MP Motorsport.
“The overall aim is to go and dominate the championship, that’s my personal target and it is shared by the team,” said Rowland.
“Last year was my first year and with the tyres it was sometimes difficult, but there were lots of positives. Going into this year, I’ve got a lot better with my approach going into each race, so I’m looking forward to putting it into place.”
