Dropped scores have been axed from the Renault UK Clio Cup this season as part of a number of changes to the series’ regulations.

In the past, drivers dropped their two worst results when the final points were calculated but from 2017 all 18 Clio races will count. The rest of the point-scoring system will remain unchanged.

There have also been tweaks to the Masters Cup contest of the series, with the lower age limit reduced from 38 to 34. Testing is another area altered with teams and drivers now unable to test at tracks within 28 days of its Clio Cup meeting – whereas before they were banned from testing at venues not yet raced at.

The other change is an increased prize fund, with the winner of the Masters and Graduate Cups getting 25 per cent off registration fees for 2018.
