Beechdean pulls out of British GT for 2017 season
British GT title winning squad Beechdean AMR will take a sabbatical from British GT in 2017.
The squad – which won the GT3 title in 2015 with Jonny Adam and team owner Andrew Howard – is competing in the European Le Mans Series, Le Mans and a number of other SRO-sanctioned events in 2017.
Howard has stated that the right driver line-up didn’t materialise for the team in the lead up to the British GT season.
“If I’m honest, I want to run people who are the right people for the team,” he said. “And with a proven record like we have in British GT, I want to make sure that’s right. Unfortunately that hasn’t pulled together.”
Howard is competing in the European Le Mans Series this year before also competing at Le Mans. The squad has unconfirmed plans of competing in the Blancpain Sprint Series and at Spa.
