New Four Na­tions con­test for Na­tional Hot Rods launched for 2017

A brand new four-round cham­pi­onship to find the best of the best in­ter­na­tional Hot Rod tal­ents has been cre­ated and will take in races in Eng­land, Scot­land, North­ern Ire­land and the Repub­lic of Ire­land.

The Four Na­tions cham­pion will be the driver who scores the most points over four meet­ings that are al­ready part of the do­mes­tic sched­ules in each of the re­gions.

The meet­ings will in­clude the Euro­pean week­end at Lochgelly in Scot­land on April 1/2, the Na­tional Cham­pi­onship in Eng­land at Hed­nes­ford Hills on Au­gust 4-6, the Bri­tish Cham­pi­onship week­end that takes place at Tul­ly­roan in North­ern Ire­land on Septem­ber 2/3 and the Masters of the Oval week­end at Tip­per­ary in Ire­land on Oc­to­ber 28/29.

Na­tion­al­’s Neil Rowe, who is one of the men be­hind the event, said: “We’ve al­ready got season-long points cham­pi­onships in each na­tion, and we’ve got the four or five times a year when all NHR re­gions come to­gether for a ma­jor one-off cham­pi­onship.

“We haven’t had a season-long four-event in­ter­na­tional points cham­pi­onship where the best driv­ers can mea­sure them­selves against each other.”
