Mur­ray and Williams fail to make fi­nal

A last-lap mis­take at Brook­lands by James Raven gifted Matt RoundGar­rido vic­tory in heat one on a wet track, with pole­sit­ter Jake Byrne fin­ish­ing third af­ter a spin on the open­ing lap.

Ross Mar­tin se­cured a lights-to-flag vic­tory in heat two as Kevin O’hara took sec­ond with Luke Cooper, who started eighth af­ter suf­fer­ing dam­age in qual­i­fy­ing when he col­lided with Se­bas­tian Mel­rose com­ing out the as­sem­bly area, fin­ish­ing third.

The front three of Joey Foster, Jor­dan Dempsey and Bri­tish F3 driver Jamie Chadwick stayed un­changed from start-to-fin­ish in heat three.

Keith Done­gan lost on-the-road vic­tory and was de­moted to fifth af­ter last-lap con­tact at Luffield with last year’s event win­ner, Niall Mur­ray, in heat four.

Amer­i­can schol­ar­ship driver Jonathan Ko­tyk in­her­ited the win, with Mur­ray sec­ond.

Michael Moyers com­fort­ably won heat five from Kevin Mills Rac­ing team-mate Roger Orgee, but Na­tional cham­pion Luke Williams fin­ished eighth with en­gine prob­lems and pulled out of the event. Josh Fisher took vic­tory in heat six, the fastest of the day on a dry cir­cuit af­ter ear­lier rain, from Stu­art Gough and Oliver White.

Westie Mitchell won the Pro­gres­sion race af­ter start­ing 14th while Ko­tyk’s fel­low scholar, Aaron Jean­sonne, was elim­i­nated af­ter fin­ish­ing sev­enth.

David Mccul­lough took a lights-toflag win in the Last Chance race.

Fisher held off White for the first semi fi­nal win, which was red-flagged when Mur­ray spun at Brook­lands and was col­lected by Mel­rose.

A mis­take by Moyers at Brook­lands al­lowed Foster to win the sec­ond semi and start the fi­nal from pole.
