Bike sports champion Leaney to switch to Dutch Supercar Challenge in a Norma

-

Reigning 750 Motor Club Bikesports champion Stefano Leaney will graduate into the Dutch Supercar Challenge for 2018, sharing a Norma M20FC with Travis drummer Neil Primrose.

The pairing are hoping to challenge for overall wins in the championship, coming up against the likes of Ligier LMP3 cars.

“If we can get a hustle on with our car then we should be challenging for overall wins,” said Leaney. “The Norma couldn’t beat them [in 2017], but watching onboard from last year there’s more time to be had in the car.”

Leaney won the Bikesports championship in his first full season of racing, while Primrose has competed in myriad categories in recent years.

The pair will test their Norma at Donington Park on February 15, before taking part in another event, the Silverstone 24 Hours. While the Norma will be run in the Netherlands by Tim Gray Motorsport, Leaney and Primrose will switch to a Tatuus PY012 with AF2 Motorsport for the Silverstone race, and will add a yet-to-be-confirmed third driver for that event. “It will be a good event to get under my belt, and should still be a good warm-up for everything else we’re doing this year,” added Leaney.
