Cranchi XT36
With the XT36, Cranchi says it has combined the ‘rationale of a trawler and the thrill of a sportscruiser.’ Not an obvious combination to go for, but maybe it’s on to something?
The planing hull is combined with twin sterndrives and either a pair of Volvo Penta D4-260s or 300s for a top speed of around 30 knots. So it will go and handle like a sportscruiser but on board, you get a practical, bright saloon and two decent cabins with a shared bathroom. Although the amidships cabin also has its own toilet.
If sheer sleeping space is your priority then there is even a threecabin option, amazingly. There is no word yet as to whether there will be a flybridge version of the boat available but it’s certainly a design that would lend itself to one, in the image of Bénéteau’s new Swift Trawler 35.
