the IMAG e that rocked our boat this Month

Motorboat & Yachting - - BIG PICTURE -

Carving a trench in a patch of Mediterranean south of the Lérins Islands off Cannes, the Fairline Targa 43 Open carries the weight of expectation on its curvaceous shoulders. This Alberto Mancini design joins a Targa model line that has produced some of the greatest sportscruisers ever built, from the game-changing Targa 33 of the 1980s to the supremely talented Targa 47 and the original Olesinski-designed Targa 43 itself. Times have changed though, and for most customers living space is king so the brief is trickier than it used to be. Yes, the boat needs to perform and look the business but a full-beam owner’s cabin, two spacious bathrooms and a tender garage are now a must too. This is the boat that will define the modern era of Fairline; does it hit the mark? Find out on p72.
