The R’s chrome-molybdenum trellis frame weighs just 9.8kg and the offset is changed from that on the sibling ‘S’ model’s spec so that the ‘R’ is more stable. Continental TKC tyres are fififitted to 21in and 18in spoked wheels for off-road for this test although European bikes come with Trail Attack 2 rubber as standard fitment.
