“When I was last racing in England there was Cal Crutchlow, Johnny Rea, Leon Camier, Tom Sykes and me, all battling for wins and we could go and do world championships and be battling to win. The level has always been there and still is.”
Is he still relishing the challenge of engaging in battle with foes old and new?
“The most important thing for me is that I will be sat on that grid with a chance of winning,” Haslam said. “I have never had that in my whole career. I’ve been on bikes that I can win on but never been on the bike to be on. The Kawasaki is the bike to be on in WSB and I’ve made that move now with a very, very good team. It doesn’t make it any easier to win but I believe I can win and it is down to me.”
