While speculation has raged about where most of his championship rivals will find themselves in 2017, rumours about Marc Marquez’s future remain muted.

While 2015 may not have gone the way Marquez would have wanted after two incredible championship-winning years, he’s not foolish enough to think that Honda will take their defeat to Yamaha lying down. Wresting the crown from their Japanese rivals in 2016 won’t be easy, but one thing is for sure, HRC won’t be giving up the fight.

And with strong and loyal support not only from Honda, but from title sponsor Repsol – who will without a shadow of a doubt want Spaniard Marquez to remain a part of the squad – then it’s hard to imagine him going elsewhere.

However, that hasn’t stopped Ducati from making noises about luring Marquez over to the red corner for the future. With the Italian firm finally having a machine that is absolutely capable of title success, especially with a prodigy like Marquez onboard, it could be a tempting if somewhat unlikely offer.
