KTM are rumoured to be planning a customer version of the new Motogp machine, as they move away from the traditional road-orientated sportsbike route.

Seeing continuing new regulations such as Euro 4 and Euro 5 (set to be introduced in 2020) as too restrictive to continued development of the class, KTM are also allegedly set to offer up to 100 customer versions of the bike for public sale.

Estimated to cost €100-€150,000, the bikes will be aimed at track-day customers and not racers, with KTM supposedly not pursuing homologation to race the machines in superbike racing, much like Honda with the RC213V-S.
