Now we need to learn a dif­fer­ent way to brake and en­try and we will use less an­gle, es­pe­cially in fast cor­ners, with less el­bow on the ground, but the rid­ing po­si­tion we use is very sim­i­lar. What we re­ally need is to un­der­stand what the Miche­lin needs from the bike to al­low us to load the front cor­rectly.”

6Fuel tank ca­pac­ity

Ev­ery rider is now us­ing the same amount of fuel, with tank ca­pac­ity set across the board at 22 litres. That’s a com­pro­mise be­tween the 20 litres that Honda and Yamaha raced with in 2015 and the 24 litres avail­able to Open class rid­ers.
