The Bike – BMW R1200GS – A new kind of respect…

I have to admit that before flying out I wasn’t the biggest fan of the renowned R1200GS, but I have to admit I left Thailand with a different opinion of BMW’S flagship. While Team UK weren’t crashers, other teams were and the abuse the bikes withstood was deeply impressive. I learnt to ride the GS in a different way, learnt to love its motor and solid front end and by the end of the event I didn’t want to say goodbye. The bikes were used, abused, dropped, crashed and thrashed, but not only did they refuse to miss a beat, they didn’t need a single bit of maintenance throughout the sevenday event. You can’t help but be impressed.
