Raced the new R6 in 1999 for Yamaha’s World Supersport team. “In 1999 I raced an R6 at Donington in WSS, filling in for an injured Massimo Meregalli who had broken his arm in the previous round. I qualified ninth, but I felt like I could win it. And I did! The thing about the R6 was the faster you went, the better it got. I’ve still got that

race bike at home. I love it.”

Won both Supersport races at TT 2015 on the Team Traction Control R6 “The first time I rode the TTC bike at the TT was in Wednesday night practice, but I told the team to just keep it exactly how they were running it in BSS every week. In practice on Thursday I managed a standing start lap at 124.9mph, so I knew we were in with a shout. I could do just about anything I

wanted with it.”
