BIKES THAT STILL DELIVER Losing power doesn’t have to mean losing credibility. Neil Murray
Kawasaki ZRX1100 (1997-01)
Stunning-looking naked with styling based on the classic Les Dawson – sorry, Eddie Lawson Replica air-cooled Z1000R. The Zzr1100-derived engine is just you what want in a naked bike where drivability counts for more than a supersonic top speed. It’s a big old-fashioned muscle bike that needs to be manhandled around bends.
Yamaha GTS1000 (1993-99)
Suzuki GSX750F (1998-2005)
Budget sports-tourer with rather unfortunate swoopy looks borrowed from the GSX600F, using a retuned GSX-R750 oil-cooled engine. Definitely built down to a price (brakes, suspension, bodywork, etc) but still a very viable sports tourer. More torque lower down that the Gixxer (no surprise there), very comfy, and still good for 145mph.
What you’ll pay now But should you?
