Commenting on the rumours, Stoner said: “There’s no truth that I’ll be replacing Danilo. My biggest goal at the minute is to get some tests out of the way and try and improve the bike underneath the Ducati riders and make them even more competitive than they were in race one.”
Rumours that Stoner would wide card the Ducati in 2016 have been rife following his disappointment with HRC last year when he offered to deputise for Pedrosa.
“We have no thoughts of wild cards or replacements. Just because it’s a similar situation to last year doesn’t mean I’m approaching it in anyway the same.”
