Through­out win­ter test­ing Honda were the fac­tory team with the most prob­lems. At times they were a sec­ond off the pace, but de­spite their ob­vi­ous is­sues Mar­quez some­how con­jured up a podium in Qatar and a win in Ar­gentina. The re­sults were far bet­ter than Honda could have hoped for, so what changed?

Where the Yamaha, Suzuki and Du­cati are all de­signed to roll through cor­ners on a long arc the Honda has his­tor­i­cally used a more V-shaped line – some­thing they are look­ing to change by reversing the di­rec­tion of their crank.
