UBLE WIPEOUT Pedrosa: ‘It’s lucky I don’t have wings!’

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Sport -

A red-faced Dani Pedrosa was happy he didn’t have wings on Sunday as he fears the appendages would have made his crash with Andrea Dovizioso much worse. He said: “The wings can hurt another rider. We saw in Argentina what happened with the wing on Andrea Iannone’s bike cutting Marc’s onboard camera; the camera is quite strong so if you can cut that, it can cut something else. My impact was very strong with Dovi and I’m just happy that he is okay and that my bike didn’t give him an injury.” An apologetic Pedrosa was quick to take the full blame for the crash in the aftermath, admitting that he had made the mistake that caused the duo to tumble. “I lost the front end under braking when I was still turning into the corner, lost control and tried to save the crash; but I ended up going down and taking him with me. I’m so sorry for Dovi because it’s a terrible feeling when someone takes you down.”

‘Dani isn’t a kamikaze racer who tries to overtake you on the brakes’

Pedrosa was instantly at Dovi’s side to check he was OK after taking him out in Texas Crutchlow’s had a tough start to 2016
