SMITH STAYS POSITIVE
Bradley Smith left America pleased with his weekend’s progress despite an end to his incredible run of 26 pointsscoring Motogp finishes, after making radical changes to the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha in an attempt to understand Motogp’s new Michelin tyres.
He said: “We’re reinventing the whole way of making the bike work. Nothing seemed to be working. I’m disappointed that something silly ruined our race, but we were definitely stronger at the beginning of this Grand Prix than we have been in the first two.”
Caught up in Cal Crutchlow’s crash at turn 11, Smith was left unsure of exactly what caused him to go down. “It was just a little bit off the line and when Cal went down it caught me by surprise, so I released the brake. I was slightly off line, and I fell at the same place.”
