The Morvan, France, 3-5 days

Motorcycle News (UK) - - 2016 Missions Spring Edition -

France’s best-kept secret isn’t some hidden Pyrenean pass, it’s this quiet area of wooded hills, half-a-day’s ride south of Paris. The Morvan doesn’t have any towering peaks to attract tourists, but it’s packed full of quiet, twisty roads like your favourite Brit- ish B-roads – only with a fraction of the traffic.

Better still, the Morvan’s far enough south to have the kind of weather we can only wish for: genuinely hot days, cooling to pleasantly warm evenings as you walk around the quaint town centres. It’s a popular area for outdoor holidays, with walking and mountain-biking centres meaning there are plenty of hotels. It’s an ideal destination – but keep that to yourself. We don’t want everyone knowing our secrets…
