Q Faaker See HOG Festival Q Free (to the event) Q September 6-11 Q Faaker See, Austria Qleydavidson-event/european-bike-weekam-faaker-see September is the month of the European Bike Week, an annual Harley Owners Group-organised event held in the lakeside town of Faaker See, Austria. Bike Week regularly attracts over 100,000 Harley fans from across Europe for five days of Milwaukee worship, Bratwürst, Jaegermeister and German heavy rock bands. What’s not to like? You don’t have to own a Harley-davidson to attend… all riders are welcome, although people may try to convert you to the V-twin tribe.

The HOG event opens on Wednesday but comes alive on Friday when the Italians arrive in town. Harley-davidson riders in the UK and Germany tend to be slightly older than the average but Italian Harley owners are shockingly different. Stylish, attractive and – shock of shocks – young. Combined with the cool bobber style choppers they turn up on they transform the feel of the celebration from a pot belly sausage fest to a very cool place to hang out.

The Faaker See event itself is mostly free (some areas are reserved for HOG members only) but you have to pay for camping.
