TRACER FAMILY GETS BIGGER
The MT-09 Tracer has been a sales phenomenon for Yamaha and has been one of the UK’S best-selling bikes since it was launched at the start of last year – thanks to its combination of great engine, attractive looks and an alluring price tag of just £8149.
Add in the tempting finance deals on offer with the bike, and dealers were struggling to get hold of enough stock to satisfy demand. Even now, for certain colours, there can be a wait of up to three months for delivery.
For 2016 the bike is being renamed Tracer 900, and now joins the sport-touring category in Yamaha’s line-up. This means it will get listed alongside the new Tracer 700 and the likes of the FJR1300 rather than the naked bikes in the MT range. The MT range will now be defined as ‘Hyper Naked’ for those who aren’t clear about what MT stands for.
