Any updates since 2015?

None, but if you really want to scare yourself, the non-road legal £41,000 H2R is the daddy of Kawasaki’s supercharged range with a claimed 310bhp and slick tyres.

The dealer’s view

“The H2 has been a phenomenal bike as it is so special. Just having one in your shop is a draw and people come simply to see one in the flesh – it’s like having a BSB star or celebrity there 24/7! And they also sell. We have sold eight H2s and two H2R models, which is amazing.

“We ran two demo H2s on our anniversary open day and the look on peoples’ faces when they returned - they were beaming.

“The fact it has won MCN’S seal of approval has certainly helped the H2’s sales, MCN is a massive part of the motorcycle world and its opinion is trusted. I’m actually a bit jealous of the H2, I’ve never won an MCN award despite being second in Man of the Year. Maybe I’ll get one for my dealership – or even my sidecar racing!” Chris Walker, Chris Walker Kawasaki

Owner’s view

“It stands in a class of its own. Trying to compare the H2 with a sportsbike or sports tourer makes no sense. The quality of the components is excellent and it is very, very, fast but I’m on my third rear tyre in 2500 miles and it does about 30mpg when you use the power. Accept it for what it is – a unique piece of engineering excellence.”

Used values

2015 – From £16,850 to £18,999
