James Ellison was left thoroughly disappointed as another difficult weekend saw him drop out of a top six championship position with just two rounds remaining before the Showdown cut off.

Despite flashes of pace across the weekend, Ellison continued to be plagued by the power delivery issues both he and his team-mates have endured over the past few rounds. A further problem with how his ZX-10R behaved when the tyres started to wear left him walking away from the weekend with just a ninth and tenth place to his name.

“Given a bike that works I can run at the front,” he told MCN after the second race. “If there’s something missing on the bike, that’s out of my control.

“I feel I’m getting let down a lot by things that are happening out of my control so we need to get to the bottom of it. Having dropped out of Showdown contention through no fault of my own is really frustrating and hard to take, so we need to work together to find out what is going wrong to see if we can fix it.”
