Bennetts Suzuki’s Tommy Bridewell walked away with no points after a strong ride in the first race saw him in contention for victory until he crashed out of third at Surtees on the final lap. After a decent start in race two, he was prevented from making amends as a brake problem forced him to retire.

Ryuichi Kiyonari and the Suzuki team have parted company after yet another difficult weekend for the three-time champion. The team are now on the lookout for a second rider and hope to have someone in place for the next round at Cadwell Park at the Bank Holiday weekend. It looked as though Tarran Mackenzie would leave Brands with a decent lead in the Dickies British Supersport championship as he took the double in Saturday’s sprint races. However, a fall for the Scotsman in Sunday’s feature race saw his 31-point gap reduced to just six points by Yamaha’s James Westmoreland.

Older brother Taylor Mackenzie extended his lead in the Pirelli National Superstock series with a dominant fourth victory of the season over Ian Hutchinson. Mackenzie now sits 28 points clear of his Tyco BMW rival.
