GOLDEN DAY AT BRACKLEY BIKE FESTIVAL
Forget the Rio Olympics, the real Super Sunday was in Northamptonshire at the weekend as the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling took over the town
With dazzling stunt shows by Broke FMX and Steve Colley, a fleet of manufacturer displays, large classic shows, thrilling off-road demonstrations and a topclass custom competition, Brackley once again proved itself as the best town centre motorcycling event in the UK.
With an estimated 20,000 people lining the streets, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the classic parade. With over 70 machines taking part, ranging from Manx Nortons to Motogp machines, shop windows rattled as the bikes thundered up and down the high street. The 2016 Sidecar TT winners Ben and Tom Birchall thrilled the crowd as they put their outfit through its paces on the compact course.
Organised as a not-for-profit event the 2015 Festival raised £35k for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air ambulance plus £15k for other local charities and the 2016 event is expected to match those figures.
