Explore a green lane near you

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Adventure Special -

There are over 6000 miles of Byways Open to All Traffic (BOATS) or Unclassified Country Roads (UCRS) in the UK, which most know simply under the term ‘green lanes.’ These are usually unmade roads that are impassable to everything except off- road machines. While you don’t have to join the TRF ( Trail Riders Fellowship) to ride the trails ( your bike does need to be road legal), they are doing their best to ensure that these lanes are kept open to two wheelers and the £45-a-year fee goes to fighting those who want them closed off. The TRF also has regional groups with riders who have an extensive knowledge of local trails and are a brilliant source of information and routes. So why not get exploring? www.trf.org.uk
