RIDERS DOWN AT ULSTER GP

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Sport -

The tricky conditions of Wednesday and Thursday’s qualifying sessions at Dundrod caught out Lee Johnston and Australian David Johnson.

Last year’s Ulster treble winner Johnston had opted to ride a 250cc Honda at the Ulster in preparation for the new Classic TT stroker event, but the Fermanagh rider will have to sit out the Manx festival after breaking his collarbone when he highsided on the exit from the hairpin.

David Johnson, who has just signed a new deal to ride the Norton in 2017, was making a guest appearance on the Wilson Craig Hondas that his compatriot Cameron Donald raced at the TT when he crashed at Quarterlands, sustaining shoulder and leg injuries.
