Triumph have been developing hordes of new bikes around their water-cooled Bonneville engine family and one of the strangest will be the bobber that’s been spotted on test a couple of times in the last year or so. That bike has now taken a step closer to production as Triumph has officially applied for a trademark on the name ‘Bonneville Bobber’.

Differing to the rest of the Bonneville range, the Bobber gets its own unique frame, with a faux-hardtail rear end. It’s a pure single-seater, with no pillion provision − for that you’ll have to wait for the cruiser models that will eventually replace the Speedmaster and America.

The spied Bobbers have all had single disc front brakes, and are using the 1200cc T120 engine. There’s no hint yet as to whether there might be a 900cc T100 version to follow, but a lower cost lower spec option would make a lot of sense. We expect the Bobber to be unveiled this Autumn.
