Du­cati un­leashed the orig­i­nal 1199 Panigale to the world in 2012, but since then engine sizes have grown and elec­tron­ics have be­come ever more ad­vanced. The new Anniversario is the lat­est ad­di­tion to the fam­ily – these are the other mem­bers.

959 Panigale, £13,095 157bhp, 200kg

New for this year, re­plac­ing the 899 ‘baby Panigale’. It might have those con­tro­ver­sial Euro 4 side-mounted ex­hausts, but will eat a Fire­blade SP around a track.

1299 Panigale, £17,025 205bhp, 190.5kg

Re­placed the way­ward 1199 Panigale at the be­gin­ning of 2015. The 1299 is smoother and thanks to new elec­tron­ics and chas­sis tweaks, eas­ier to ride.

MCN’S 2016 su­per­bike group test win­ner. The Panigale S has classlead­ing power, beats its ri­vals on track and is sur­pris­ingly re­fined on the road, too.

Panigale R, £28,995 205bhp, 184kg

WSB ho­molo­ga­tion-spe­cial and the base for Shakey’s BSB bike. The R has a race-spec mo­tor and for 2015 was loaded with light­weight Su­per­leg­gera parts.

1199 Su­per­leg­gera, £ 54,000 200bhp, 177kg

500 made in 2014 – sold out im­me­di­ately. Has mag­ne­sium frame and wheels, and is packed with car­bon fi­bre and ti­ta­nium.
