Welcome to the Panigale family
1299 Panigale S, £21,050
Ducati unleashed the original 1199 Panigale to the world in 2012, but since then engine sizes have grown and electronics have become ever more advanced. The new Anniversario is the latest addition to the family – these are the other members.
959 Panigale, £13,095 157bhp, 200kg
New for this year, replacing the 899 ‘baby Panigale’. It might have those controversial Euro 4 side-mounted exhausts, but will eat a Fireblade SP around a track.
1299 Panigale, £17,025 205bhp, 190.5kg
Replaced the wayward 1199 Panigale at the beginning of 2015. The 1299 is smoother and thanks to new electronics and chassis tweaks, easier to ride.
MCN’S 2016 superbike group test winner. The Panigale S has classleading power, beats its rivals on track and is surprisingly refined on the road, too.
Panigale R, £28,995 205bhp, 184kg
WSB homologation-special and the base for Shakey’s BSB bike. The R has a race-spec motor and for 2015 was loaded with lightweight Superleggera parts.
1199 Superleggera, £ 54,000 200bhp, 177kg
500 made in 2014 – sold out immediately. Has magnesium frame and wheels, and is packed with carbon fibre and titanium.
