O’HALLORAN COMING UP ON THE RAILS
Jason O’halloran is ready to blast his Honda Fireblade into the hunt at the front as the BSB battle moves to Cadwell. The Honda Racing ace currently sits a strong third in the championship standings, 38 points ahead of fourth-placed Michael Laverty and 31 points behind Haslam in second.
Having taken his first BSB win at Snetterton, O’halloran has had two further podiums since then but perhaps more impressive is the fact that he’s the only rider on the grid to have finished every race in the points so far this year and all of those finishes have been inside the top 10.
However, the Aussie star is going for a win this weekend after another step forward in testing at the Lincolnshire circuit. He said: cadwell is a track I’ve always loved. Our test there a few weeks ago was really important for me as I missed last year’s race and it’s been a while since I’ve ridden there. I found things with the bike’s set-up that seemed to really suit me and it meant I could ride the bike exactly how I wanted to.
we’ve definitely gone under the radar a bit this year and I think people forget I’ve come off the back of a badly broken femur and smashed-up left wrist and hand. We had a steady start to the year and after Knockhill made some steps with the bike and got stronger and stronger and now I feel comfortable and confident to be racing the likes of Shakey and Leon.
I am now one of the top guys, and I don’t think people expected that at the start of the year or even up until the last few rounds, but I need to continue my momentum this weekend to be a contender for race wins and the title.
Honda’s O’halloran is confident he has the pace to live with Haslam at front
