6000 miles in and the Thruxton R is sweeter than ever. With most things, the more you use them the more worn they become and they begin to lose their edge. Well, I’m pleased to say this can’t be said about the Thruxton R – the more miles I put on the clock, the better it’s got. The engine has always had a real sweetspot around 4500rpm and with so much torque it’s easy just to reach that rev in every gear and just wind the throttle on and enjoy the power. With the extra miles this sweet spot has opened up to 5500rpm, and any little vibes have withered away.

Big miles and the only vibes are good ones
