Already an unlikely winner in wet conditions this year and always strong at Silverstone, if it rains again this year, it’s hard to rule out Jack Miller.
Denied a chance to battle for a podium last year by an unfortunate mistake that took out both him and team-mate Cal Crutchlow, if the Aussie was capable of running at the front on the disastrous Honda production machine then there’s no reason why he can’t repeat the performance on the more advanced Marc VDS RC213V.
And, with his dry-weather performances improving as well, it would be no surprise if he was able to impress, even if the sun shines. The only issue might be fitness, after a monster crash during warm-up in Austria left him missing Brno with hairline fractures to a wrist and a vertebra. Only time will tell.
