A stunning podium at Silverstone last year combined with impressive wet weather performances in 2016 means that, much like team-mate Scott Redding, Danilo Petrucci moves from absolute dark horse to strong outside bet for a podium finish or even the race win if this year’s British GP is hit with rain.

Gaining a reputation for awesome wet weather riding skills from his amazing podium last year at the track and reinforcing it this year at Assen and Sachsenring, Petrucci looks able to harness the abilities of the Ducati GP15 to his advantage should it rain.

But, keen to point out that despite injuries and mechanical problems, he’s also having a strong season in the dry too, you can’t rule the Italian out of a chance for a top six finish in better conditions either.
