‘Choose your retro weapon’

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Comment - PHIL WEST MCN CONTRIBUTOR

To put it another way, it’s horses for courses. The Triumph is a delightful, easy, entertaining ride that no-one will be disappointed by, but as an authentic British café racer for nearly 12 grand I do feel a tiny bit cheated. The Norton, by complete contrast, is as authentic, British and handmade as it gets, a collectors’ piece that will always remain so, but one whose ride is for the more committed. Or, to put it another way: the Norton’s great for a Sunday afternoon blast, the Triumph you can ride to work on every day. As I said at the beginning – what a fantastic state of affairs: two great names and great bikes are back, together delivering the best of both worlds.
