Keep the remounts

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Comment -

One of the weirdest things I’ve noticed about BSB is the way riders cannot continue even after the mildest lowside. There seem to be some misguided souls who want to extend that to international series too. It’s clear that the nanny state ’elf ’n safety cultists tentacles are reaching into every area of our lives and personal responsibility is to be ruthlessly quashed. We have reached the stage here in the antipodes that the police closed a street race because it rained before the meeting started. The aliens that give us so much enjoyment in what must be the most dangerous motorsport are the only people who are entitled to decide if they should continue racing after a spill. It’s their lives and careers at stake, not some white coated jobsworth sitting in a committee. Bugger off and leave our sport alone. Lou Girardin, New Zealand
